Know More About Triplett Thermal Imaging Cameras

Why Choose a Triplett Thermal Imaging Camera?

  • Detect heat loss, moisture buildup, water leaks, and electrical faults

  • Analyze HVAC and mechanical systems with ease

  • Access real-time thermal feedback in field or lab settings

  • Store and transfer high-resolution thermal images or video for reporting

  • Choose from multiple display palettes and fusion modes for optimal visibility

From entry-level thermal imagers to advanced IR analysis tools, Triplett delivers dependable solutions that help you diagnose problems faster and with greater accuracy.

What is a thermal imaging camera used for?

A thermal imaging camera detects heat patterns and temperature differences by capturing infrared radiation. It’s commonly used for electrical inspections, HVAC diagnostics, moisture detection, mechanical troubleshooting, energy audits, and even automotive repairs. By revealing temperature anomalies invisible to the naked eye, thermal imagers help prevent failures and improve safety.

What’s the difference between a thermal imager and a standard infrared thermometer?

While both use infrared technology, a thermal imager provides a full visual representation (heat map) of temperature across a surface, whereas an infrared thermometer gives a single-point reading. Thermal imagers are ideal for detecting heat loss, hotspots, or water leaks across wider areas with visual context.

What does “Thermal Sensitivity” or NETD mean?

NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference) indicates how small a temperature difference the thermal imager can detect. Lower values (like ≤60mk) mean the camera can pick up finer temperature variations, offering more detailed and accurate thermal images.

Can thermal imaging cameras record images or video?

Yes. All Triplett thermal imagers support image storage, and models like the IRTC600 and IRTC800 also allow video recording or live stream viewing via USB or wireless connection. These features are ideal for documenting findings and sharing reports with clients or colleagues.

Are Triplett thermal imagers suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. While primarily designed for indoor diagnostics, Triplett’s thermal imaging cameras are portable, battery-powered, and rugged enough for outdoor inspections like solar panel testing, roof diagnostics, and outdoor electrical equipment monitoring.

Do I need training to use a thermal imager?

Basic operation is intuitive especially with user-friendly models like the IRTC400. However, for advanced analysis, understanding thermal patterns, emissivity, and fusion settings can help you get more accurate results. Triplett’s cameras are designed to be accessible for both beginners and professionals.
