Product Information

  • The Triplett Model TEV300 Electric Vehicle Charger Test Kit provides fundamental wiring testing for EV charging systems with LED GO/NO GO indication that shows the status of the charger output socket. An LED indication chart provides simple socket inspection conditions and does not require a vehicle to be connected.
  • The TEV300 is designed for single-phase EV charging systems that include a neutral conductor (L1/N/PE). When used on split-phase (L1/L2/PE) or 208V systems without a neutral, the tester may not indicate a GO condition even if the charger is operating correctly.
  • The Proximity Pilot (PP) State (Cable Simulation) simulates 20A current capability between PP and PE conductors. A built-in Control Pilot (CP) State (Vehicle Simulation Switch) can simulate vehicle states using different resistances connected between CP and PE conductors. CP Error “E” simulates the behavior of the station when there is an established short circuit between CP and PE. The TEV300 complies with EMC Directive (2014/30/EU), the Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU), and EN61010-1 standards. Includes an IEC62196-2 Type 1 female to male adaptor and pouch case.

This occurs when the EV charger is not sending a proper control pilot (CP) signal. If the pilot is missing, unstable, or outside J1772 tolerance, the TEV300 cannot classify the condition under its standard wiring-fault indicators and may show a non-legend pattern. This does not indicate a tester fault. If the TEV300 behaves normally on another charger, the issue is with the EVSE’s pilot circuit.
