Datasheet
A coaxial cable stripper is a specialized tool designed to remove the outer insulation and shielding layers from coaxial cables. Its primary purpose is to prepare the cable for the installation of connectors, ensuring a clean and precise connection for audio, video, or data transmission.
A coaxial cable stripper typically has multiple blades or cutting edges that are adjusted to the desired depth. By rotating the stripper around the cable, it cuts through the outer layers, leaving the inner conductor intact. The user can then remove the cut portion of the cable's outer layers.
While a regular wire stripper can be used in a pinch, it is not recommended for coaxial cables. Coaxial cable strippers are specifically designed to prevent damage to the inner conductor and maintain the cable's impedance, which is crucial for signal quality. Using the wrong tool may result in signal degradation.
