A manual ranging DMM is a versatile electronic measurement tool used by electricians, technicians, and DIY enthusiasts to measure various electrical properties, including voltage, current, resistance, and more.
In a manual ranging DMM, you must select the measurement range (voltage, current, or resistance) manually, whereas an auto-ranging DMM automatically selects the appropriate range based on the detected signal, making it more user-friendly for beginners.
Manual ranging DMMs offer precise control over the measurement range, allowing experienced users to select the most suitable range for their specific measurement needs. They can be preferred in certain applications where manual range selection is crucial.
